As the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company she was raised from youth to strive to be the best in all she did and excelled at activities such as singing and playing the piano. Willow leaves telling her she left her brother alone with his broken parents. At first, Flynt resents Weiss because the Schnee Dust Company ran his Father out of business. There is tension when Weiss calls her out for doing nothing about Jacques' wrongdoings, and she decides to help Weiss by showing her the hidden camera she placed in Jacques' office. With their investigation currently at a close, Yang asks what to do next, to which Weiss replies that they should train for the tournament but believes the team has that covered. After arriving in Atlas and meeting with James Ironwood, Weiss' hair is now braided, and she has grown out her bangs and styled them to frame her face more closely.

The biggest sign of her lack of endurance, however, is her inability to take heavy hits.

In "Alone Together", Weiss defends Blake's decision to leave Yang, who is clearly still hurt and emotionally wounded over Blake deciding to run away. It is revealed that Weiss will be joining Yang in moving forward onto the doubles round to represent Team RWBY, whilst Emerald and Mercury will move on from their team. Ruby admits that she was trying to prove she can take care of herself, but Weiss says she is fine. Due to the ongoing violence between the SDC and the White Fang terrorist group, Weiss despises the White Fang and shows a noticeable distrust of Faunus at first. Weiss' development carries into her whimsical and humorous side as she joins her team in a food fight against Team JNPR and a board game. Confused, they return to Ironwood who reveals a Black Queen chess piece, the symbol Salem used before Beacon fell, was placed in his office. Weiss and her team, still in shock at Oobleck being their Huntsman are informed by the latter on the reasons of their mission.

Because she is kidnapped by the Branwen Tribe, Weiss shows nothing but hostility towards Vernal. Weiss retaliates with Myrtenaster as the suit attacks.
