I’m happy for Colin. Publishing during the Civil Rights Movement, Giovanni's early poems were suffused with a revolutionary spirit. Usually, what they are listening to is podcasts. She is the author of Rosa, a Caldecott Honor book, Lincoln and Douglass, The Genie in the Jar, and Ego-tripping and Other Poems for Young People. And some red wine. I think that the kids, the young people have done a wonderful job. Where there were once sharp, hard lines, there are now soft pastels, curves, and shades. He is a great illustrator. Prolific as ever, her latest book, Make Me Rain, comes out in October of 2020. Writers are always questioning what we say and how we want to say it. I just think that is something that is central to what America is.
